Navi Mumbai to be the first Educational Hub of International Universities in India being developed by CIDCO!

On 14th June 2025, Letters of Intent (LOIs) were officially granted to Five International Universities that will be part of this landmark Education City project.

A grand LOI Granting Ceremony was held at the Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, in the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Union Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis, where the following universities were granted LOIs:

• University of York

• University of Aberdeen

• University of Western Australia

• Illinois Institute of Technology

• IED – Istituto Europeo di Design

The event was also graced by the presence of:

• Hon’ble Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Maharashtra – Shri Chandrakant Dada Patil

• Hon’ble Secretary, Higher Education Department & Acting Chairman, UGC – Shri Vineet Joshi

• Hon’ble Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development Department – Shri Assem Gupta

Also present at the ceremony were:
