Vigilance Department in CIDCO was established on 17th May 2013 by Board Resolution No.10817 with a view to brining more transparency in the administration. The department functions on two-tier system that is Preventive Vigilance and Investigative Vigilance.
Surprise checks are also made by the department to various departments to determine levels of integrity in work and performance of employees and disciplinary action is recommended against erring employees.
The CVO keeps interacting with the Anti-Corruption Bureau of the Maharashtra Government and supervises over disciplinary actions in all corruption-related cases.
The department also organizes Public Awareness Programmes during the ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ every year. The Programmes include street plays by college students in the city, skits by CIDCO employees in its auditorium and essay competitions of students in different schools.
The CVO has appealed citizens to fearlessly report any such malpractice on-line or personally to the department. If an informant desires that his name shall not be published, care shall be taken by the Vigilance Department, that there is no disclosure of the informant’s identity.
The CVO is also the Chairperson of 3 committees i.e. 1) Dispute Settlement Committee 2) Extension Analysis Committee and 3) JNPIA High Level Committee.
