22.5 Scheme

The Navi Mumbai International Airport to be spread over 2268 hectare, with the Core Airport areas of 1161 hectare spanning from East to West in the length of 6 km and from North to South about 2.5 km the project necessitates re-location of 10 villages with nearly 3000 households, minor business activities and structures located in core airport area, namely Chinchpada, Kopar, Kolhi, Ulwe, Varche Owale, Waghivalivada, Ganeshpuri, Targhar Kombadbhuje and Vaghivali.
In order to comply with to the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation & Resettlement Act, 2013, that replaced the old Land Acquisition Act 1894 The Corporation drafted a policy in accordance with the guidelines of the Central and State Government to offer the best package to PAPs. The package proposed 22.5% developed land to be given back, to compensate their acquired land.
The State Government approved the policy of Rehabilitation & Resettlement vide GR dated 1st March 2014. The re-settlement pockets will be provided all essential amenities like school, community centre, urban health centre, village administrative complex, market, parking space, religious places, and crematorium.
CIDCO has identified following pockets for R&R activities. They are: 40 hectares along SH-54 in Vadghar village for Rehabilitation of Chinchpada (Dighode pada), Kolhi, Kopar, Vaghiwalivada villages; 21 hectares along SH-54 for Rehabilitation of Chinchpada (Talao Pali), Chinchpada (Motha Pada), Chinchpada (Madhala Pada) villages and 15 hectare along NH-4B in Vadghar village for Rehabilitation of Varache Owale village.
CIDCO has also earmarked Sector-24, 25 & 25 (A) at Vahal village in Ulwe Node for Rehabilitation of Ulwe, Targhar, Kombadbhuje and Ganeshpuri villages.  The total area of R&R pocket at Vahal is about 73 Ha. The rehabilitation includes ready Physical and Social Infrastructure.
