Stipend for Higher Education

CIDCO started paying a stipend to the wards of PAP for tailoring and technical training from 1973. The beneficiaries were mainly from the age group of 16 to 22 years.

1. To share the financial burden
2. To encourage parents and children to take up higher education
3. To help them attain employment after acquiring higher education
4. To uplift and improve educational standards

This initiative of CIDCO met with tremendous success. While the percentage of PAP wards taking up education above the 10th standard was earlier hardly 5 to 10%, it went up to 95% after this Scheme.
