Coastal Road

CIDCO has planned and developed an integrated township at Dronagiri to facilitate the Jawaharlal Nehru Port & existing population. Residential zones, truck terminal, social facilities & 12.50% scheme have been planned to support the commercial activities.

In order to ease the heavy traffic due to container movements there is a need for a Costal road. Accordingly, 8.30-k.m. coastal road has been planned between Navghar and Chanje. It will be connected to NH – 4B. Navghar to Bokadvira section is 5.40 k.m. and Bokadvira to Chanje section is 2.90 k.m. Navghar to Bokadvira section will have 6 lanes, while Bokadvira to Chanje will have 4 lanes. On both ends there will be connecting paved roads of 2 x .50 m and roads of 2x2 m. Navghar to Bokadvira section is now under construction.  

Precast concrete RCC Arch Bridges are planned on Holding Pond No 3A, 3 & 4 for bridging of Holding Ponds to connect Coastal road at Dronagiri. Road crust of 650 mm thickness over murum fill embankment is planned for ground improvement of the road area. It will have facilities of street lighting, traffic signage and lane markings.
