Central Park, Kharghar

Developed as a recreational space of the highest order and hailed as a landmark project undertaken by CIDCO, Central Park is a blend of landscape and Urban Design. It has been CIDCO's effort to meet international standards, with Central Park. It is inspired by the famous park in the world- London's Hyde Park and New York's Central Park. A large scale open space located at the centre of Kharghar in Navi Mumbai and part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region was identified for the development of Central Park. It virtually creates a 'Green-Link' between the hills dotting Kharghar and the creek, while a natural channel runs from hills to creek with fully grown trees and vegetation spread over sporadic locations. The project development is divided into two phases, Phase-I in Sector 23, Phase-II in Sector 24 and 25.
The Phase-I of Central Park was inaugurated on 25 of January 2010, at the hands of Honourable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, before the official inauguration, with a performance by the Indian Music Composer Pritam, as part of the Navi Mumbai Festival at the Amphitheatre, on 23 January, 2010. Following the official inauguration, world famous playback singer, musician and actor Sonu Nigam, performed at the amphitheatre on 26 January, 2010.
