Engineering Department

Functions of the Department are as follows:

  • Technical control over all projects and engineering activities in Navi Mumbai excluding Railway Infrastructure

  • Administrative control over all engineers of the Corporation

  • Technical Scrutiny of proposals and Scrutiny of final bills

  • Registration of Contractors.

  • Handling of all contract disputes including settlement through Disputes Settlement Committee.

  • Structural design

  • Infrastructure Design.

  • Approving the products to be used

  • Monitoring the project progress.

  • Designing Water Supply and Sewerage system

  • Water supply management

  • Hetawane water supply scheme

  • Implementation of city scale projects

  • Solid waste management.

  • Electrical-Technical checking of electrical proposals, Coordination with MSEB, Supervision of capital and

  • maintenance works of electrical section, Kharghar power supply infrastructure.

  • Internal Auditor (Engg.)-Inspection and observation memos of works of value Rs. 25 lacs and above.

  • Follow up for compliance of quality/other observations.

  • CIDCO material testing laboratory at Sanpada Railway Station.

  • Quality auditors of all sites. System auditors for all Mass Housing and other sites based on procedure manual

  • SAP implementation.
