Architecture Department

Architecture department plays stellar role in the development of cities. Functionally Architecture Department of CIDCO in Navi Mumbai has been divided in to four sections i.e.

  1. North & Railway Projects  – South NM includes Airoli, Ghansoli, Rabale, Turbhe, Koparkhairane, Nerul and Belapur

  2. South & Palghar  – North NM comprised of CBD Belapur, Kharghar, Kamothe, Kalamboli, Panvel, Dronagiri

  3. New Towns & Airport – New Towns consist of Nashik, Nanded, Aurangabad etc

  4. Housing & Building Permissions for in-house projects

Functions of the department
The department prepares designs for housing projects for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Lower Income Group (LIG) Middle Income Group (MIG) and Higher Income Group (HIG). It designs special building designs in the area of CIDCO’s jurisdiction. It also takes care of design for social facility buildings such as Hospitals/dispensaries, schools, hostels/dormitories, police stations, bus stands, hawkers market, fire stations, community centres, centres for senior citizens (Virangula Kendra), public toilets, guest houses etc. It also work as consultants, the projects it has handled are guests houses of Asam and Meghalay, district headquarters of Sindhudurg and Palghar as well as buildings for special purpose like Vande Mataram House, and Haj House.

Nature of work:
Department’s nature of work includes designing of various types of buildings, coordination with Engineering Department in building structures and finalizing them, designs for marketing, expenditure budget, tenders and agreement documents as well as giving building permissions for in-housing projects.
