Social Service Department

Right from the inception CIDCO has given special importance for providing social infrastructure in Navi Mumbai. The plots have been earmarked for education, Social Welfare, Regional, Cultural and Religious purposes. CIDCO ensures to provide essential social facilities in every node of Navi Mumbai. NGO’s and Trusts formed by the PAPs are encouraged to take up plots to meet their social and cultural needs. Social Service Department looks after all these activities. CIDCO has allotted 253 plots in the category of Regional, Cultural and Social Welfare.

Since Navi Mumbai is comprised of a number of self-contained townships CIDCO has promoted educational self-sufficiency in each township. The Corporation has leased out about 129 number of plots covering an area of 50.49 hectares to various reputed educational institutions in different nodes of Navi Mumbai for setting up of schools, which offers education in ICSE, CBSE and State syllabi. Corporation has leased out 55 for higher educational Institutes

The Corporation vide resolution No.9696 Dt. 26.09.2007 has adopted the policy that has been approved by the State Government to lease out plots for social facilities i.e. Schools (ii) Arts Science & Commerce Jr. & Sr. College as well as vocational courses and (iii) Other higher educational courses. As per this policy plots earmarked for Social facility as below

PCO booth facility 

The Corporation vide resolution no. 10164 dated 10/08/2009 has adopted a policy to allot PCO Booth sites to physically & visually handicapped persons, with a view to achieve twin objectives i.e. to provide the facility of manned telephone booth to the general public at strategic locations, while on the other hand to provide the opportunity of attaining financial self-support for the underprivileged handicapped persons. As per the policy in addition to PCO, STD & ISD facilities ,the PCO Booth holders are permitted use the stall for local, STD & ISD telephone facilities, Fax, Telex, E-mail, typing, cyclostyling & Xerox. In addition such stalls can be used for sale of stationary items & flowers. Presently sites for PCO Booths are allotted in the nodal areas falling in the jurisdiction of the Corporation. Allotment of PCO Booth sites in the jurisdiction of NMMC area is dealt by the Municipal Corporation.

Milk Booth Facility
The Corporation vide resolution no.3268 Dtd.21/01/85 has adopted policy to allot Milk Booth site for sale Milk & Milk product to Dairy Development Dept. & other Semi Govt.& Co-operative Milk production Dairies to provide the facility to the resident of Navi Mumbai. Presently sites for Milk Booths are allotted in the nodal areas falling in the jurisdiction of the Corporation. Allotment of Milk Booth sites in the jurisdiction of NMMC area is dealt by the Municipal Corporation.

Community centre facility
CIDCO with a view to provide better quality of life to the residents of Navi Mumbai has constructed G + 2 Community Centre Bldgs in the various nodes of Navi Mumbai. The built up premises available in the Community Centre building are rented out to various local NGO’s for conducting & promoting Socio-Regional cultural, educational, sports & recreational activities. The premises of the Community Centre bldg. are used for conducting social welfare, regional cultural, recreational, and sports activities. The second floor hall is rented out for conducting socio-cultural & family functions to the general people & as well as to the registered Trust.
The Corporation vide resolution no.6654 Dtd.26/05/1995 has adopted a policy to allot the premises on L & L and vide resolution no.7623 Dtd.08/12/1997 has adopted policy to allot hall on rent to the general public for holding different functions.

The Corporation while executing the agreement with Trust had specified the condition for the reservation of seats for the admission of wards of Project-affected Persons and CIDCO employees, The trusts were allotted plots on Social facility basis to School/ Jr. Colleges and Higher Educational Institutions with an aim of providing educational facilities.

Admission Process

  • The PAPs and CIDCO employees shall directly submit their application with requisite documents to Jr. Colleges and Higher Education Institutions in the prescribed time.

  • For authentication of the PAPs, the institution shall verify PAP certificate issued by competent authority while for CIDCO employees in service certificate issued and attested by Manager Personnel is necessary.

  • Institutions should give admission purely on merit basis through management quota. There will be a separate inter se merit list for PAPs and CIDCO employees.
